She grew up in Washington, D.C. The city, dang it -- not Silver Spring or Chevy Chase or Arlington or Crystal City. WASHINGTON, D.C. She went to art school in Boston, where she met her husband. They had fun being young in the Boston area.

They moved back to the D.C. area (not the city this time) and lived in Frederick, Maryland for eleven years. They headed north to Connecticut, where they still live with their three boys and maniacal dog.
