A novel by

Julia Flores has dreamed of spending her life with Ruiz Navarro since they were children on the Texas frontier. When Ruiz returns home from the Texas War for Independence, he's no longer the innocent boy Julia knew. He's widowed with a young daughter and has lost his beloved father in the War. He's become a bitter, cold man. And he is focused on managing his ranch, but Julia needs his help to save their families' vineyard. He tries to control his attraction for Julia, not wanting to suffer loss again. But her innocent love brings them together, and they cannot deny the feelings that have brought them together. But forces of greed and jealousy surround them, threatening the very dreams they both hold dear.
Allende Soto is a poor cowboy, who loves Ruiz's sister, Teresa, with all his heart. Deemed not good enough by Ruiz's aristocratic mother, she separates the two, even though Teresa is bereft without her cowboy. Allende feels he has to prove himself worthy of the Navarro family, and his self-sacrifice and heroic efforts help to stop the evil forces threatening the Navarro and Flores' families.
