Yet another Dark Horse movie tie-in, and another good one, this book invents a new story line to tack on to the hugely successful MGM film. Now we have a new human/alien crossbreed, code moniker KAL, who, after much displacing of sentry innards, has escaped his private-sector lab to embark on a tear-ass through redneck America. Solid writing here (among the writers are suspense novelist extraordinaire Ed Gorman and comic baron Steve Bissette), terrific production, and nifty, bright block-style art keep this story rolling from start to gory finish. In the movie, the hybrid (played by Natasha Henstridge) was undeniably female; what's new here is that KAL is a male hybrid, and he has some..."compatibility" problems with his human victims that rank queasily high on the grossometer!
