Celia Rees is an English author of children's literature, including some horror and fantasy books.

She was born in Solihull, West Midlands but now lives in Leamington Spa with her husband and teenage daughter. Rees attended University of Warwick and earned a degree in History of Politics. After university, she taught English in Coventry secondary schools for seventeen years, during which time she began to write.

During her time in teaching she asked several of her pupils why they would not read the books they were given and what they wanted to read about. The pupils said that they wanted books with action, horror, danger, magic and pirates.

Hotel Magnifique (2022)
Emily J Taylor
"It was wonderful to escape into such a rich imaginative world and lose oneself in a story so compelling, I genuinely could not put it down. As dizzyingly inventive as the Hotel itself. A real imaginative tour de force."

The Rose Code (2021)
Kate Quinn
"An intricate play of love, loss, betrayal and redemption, Kate Quinn's novel is every bit as complex and fascinating as the codes being broken at Bletchley Park... Impossibly gripping from start to finish, The Rose Code is a cracking good read!"

Hidden Among Us (2013)
(Hidden Among Us, book 1)
Katy Moran
"A winning combination of mystery and ancient magic."
