(1966)
A novel by

The Tree Lord of Imeten is a non-stop sword-and-planet adventure with a firm scientific foundation. A near-sighted human hero becomes the pivotal figure in a no-holds-barred battle between two intelligent alien species. The Tree Lord of Imeten was originally teamed with Samuel R. Delany's Empire Star and critic Rich Horton has called the pairing "one of the stronger books in the whole series." Ace Doubles were a unique format that is fondly remembered by science fiction fans who read them in the 60's. Each Ace Double contained two complete books bound back to back. Ace's editor, Don Wollheim, concentrated on action-adventure stories but he also published the early works of Ursula K. LeGuin, Samuel R. Delany, and Philip K. Dick.
