The Tewa Pueblo was protected years ago by the masked Renegade, Rafael de Aguirre. But Rafe is gone, and trouble comes again. Melanie Ann Muessen has come to the plains of the New Mexico Territory to photograph its inhabitants and finds these townsfolk are reluctant to turn to their savior's ne'er-do-well brother, the half-Zuni Diego. Melanie recognizes Diego has the blood of a hero.
