Mez Packer was born in Essex. She studied Philosophy and Literature at Warwick University then spent time in Europe singing jazz in bars and nightclubs.

She travelled in Asia, the Far East and the Caribbean with her partner and young child before becoming a web editor and lecturer in multimedia and communication. She lives with her husband and youngest daughter in Leamington Spa. Her first novel, Among Thieves, is published by Tindal Street Press.
