A lovely look at days, places and things that have been a 'delight' and have given pleasure: fountains, photographs, charades, smells, walking in a pine wood, bragging(!), comic characters, dancing, buying books, and many more, written to 'delight' the reader. All written during a period when Priestly was himself suffering many personal vicissitudes like having several teeth pulled, moving house.
