Simone Sancerre, young and impressionable, has left home to work at the Hotel Delouche, where she finds herself falling in love with Francois, son of la patronne, Claire Delouche. Life seems wonderful, until the arrival of Barbie, a vividly beautiful girl, who shatters Simone's romantic dreams of a happy future. Francois becomes obsessed with Barbie and Simone and Claire can do nothing but watch from the sidelines as Francois sinks deeper and deeper.
