Tempting Offer

(2005)
A novel by

Anne Fabian makes a decision to return to Rockaway Ranch near Tucson, Arizona, after a decade away. This sets off a series of events that will change her life, and she isn't sure if it's better or worse.

Ten years ago, she left Rockaway with Grady Walker, ranch foreman, leaving behind her first and only love, Jeff Crandall. Grady's death means Anne will have to sell The Outback, Grady's ranch, in order to pay enormous medical bills from his illness. Jeff buys The Outback and offers Anne a place to stay at Rockaway until she gets back on her feet: physically, emotionally, and financially.

Anne is tempted to lay the heavy responsibilities she's wrestled with on Jeff's wide shoulders. So tempting. But then, there are consequences Anne isn't sure she can handle. She's still in love with Jeff who thinks she's irresponsible and selfish. He's a friend so he made the offer. Deep down, Jeff knows he has an ulterior motive: He wants Anne and he'll have her--eventually.
