In the final days of the War Between the States, Union scout Royal Smith witnessed an almost unbelievable clandestine meeting between a Confederate officer and a Union general. He couldn't hear what was said, and the meeting became a vague notation in the official company record book. The incident was almost forgotten by Smith, until a man comes in search of the two officers and then goes missing.
