Maria-Antònia Oliver was born in Manacor, Majorca, Spain in 1946. She has published six novels as well as translating, among other works, The Years by Virginia Woolf, Moby Dick and Tom Sawyer into Catalan. She currently divides her time between Majorca and Barcelona.
