Patrick Neate

UK (1970 - )

Patrick Neate was born in South London, and now divides his time between London and Southern Africa. He is a respected novelist, critic, scriptwriter and poet and is founder of literary event, Book Slam. His work has been published in most major UK newspapers and magazines, widely anthologised and broadcast on radio and television. Patrick won the 2001 Betty Trask Award with his novel MUSUNGU JIM AND THE GREAT CHIEF TULOKO, and the 2001 Whitbread Novel Award for TWELVE BAR BLUES. Since then he has published three further novels - THE LONDON PIGEON WARS (2003), CITY OF TINY LIGHTS (2006) and JERUSALEM (2009) - and a work of non-fiction titled WHERE YOU'RE AT (2004).
