James L Nelson recommends
Havoc's Sword (2003) (Alan Lewrie, book 11) Dewey Lambdin "Lewrie is a marvelous creation, resourceful and bold... the action doesn't stop... a wild ride, a voyage filled with historically authentic characters and events, realistically drawn naval action... a page turner, full of the eighteenth century's refreshing lack of political correctness." | Night Falls on Damascus (2006) Frederick Highland "The book is peopled with rich, enigmatic characters whose pasts are shrouded in mystery and whose motives are close held secrets." | For Love of Country (2009) (Cutler Family Chronicles, book 2) William C Hammond "A rollicking good read full of battles, glory, and high seas adventure, all firmly rooted in this nation's maritime history that the author knows and portrays so well." |
