When some of Mike's friends disappear along with twice as many citizens, Gabrielle realizes that Freeman is still alive and still wants her. In order to protect those she cares about, she and her friends, one a Mafia godfather's niece, decide to go along with Freeman's scheme. But Gabrielle fears for the safety of those with her and goes to Freeman alone in hopes of stopping him before he sees through their counterplot.

Author Biography: Genevieve Neff is a native Texan who lives with her husband and small menagerie of pets that includes dogs, box turtles, and a hedgehog, in a rural subdivision not far from Houston. She has been writing for most of her life, beginning in sixth grade with a poem her teacher especially liked.
