Nazi Germany has invaded Communist Russia, and caught up in this are the surviving members of the Bolugayevski family. Whilst Alexei volunteers for medical duty in Russian hospitals, Joseph Crumb returns on a fact-finding mission, and Pricilla plunges headlong into the corrupt world of the Kremlin.
