In the jungle a secret can lie undisturbed for decades. Shirley Richards has always been obsessed with the death of her grandfather in a plane crash in British Guiana during World War II. And the further she investigates, the more certain she becomes that he is still alive in the Guyanese jungle. Tom O'Ryan isn't so certain in fact, he thinks Shirley's crazy but he is obsessed with Guyana (as it now is), where he spent the first ten years of his life.
