A short novel first published in Paris in 1936 by Siana Editions; this was a venture set up by Nin with the help of Alfred Perlès and Michael Fraenkel, after Jack Kahane had turned down the book for his Obelisk Press. When the author returned to the U.S.A. in the 1940's, she set up the Gemor Press.
