Dame Emilie Rose Macaulay, DBE (1 August 1881 - 30 October 1958) was an English writer. She published thirty-five books, mostly novels but also biographies and travel writing. The letters in this volume were written by Rose Macaulay to Father Hamilton Johnson, an Anglican priest whom Macaulay had known, briefly, during the First World War.
