Burying Caesar

(2023)
A novel by

People expect a state funeral for Caesar - a gun carriage, streets lined with soldiers, a twenty-one-gun salute and thirty days of national mourning. The state says - ‘no way’. Caesar unceremoniously quit his high position in the government out of disgust, hounded out by political cartels for his uncompromising stand on corruption and impunity, and spent his last days in solitude forgotten by the people and government that he served. The state cannot honour such a rebel with a state funeral.

The clan is at a loss. To bury the greatest man that ever lived with fitting dignity will cost more than the wealth of the clan. Then a joker with no means steps up to give Caesar a burial worthy of Caesar.
