Growing up in a small town in Minnesota farming country, Maureen has enjoyed penning stories since the moment she learned to read, write and string sentences together. She earned a Bachelor of Science degree in biology at St. Cloud (MN) State University then taught middle school science for three years, until her husband joined the Air Force. After that, she held various jobs--bookstore clerk, administrative assistant, customer service manager, department manager, and pharmacy technician--until settling on writing.

Maureen and her husband, who retired from the Air Force, live on 40 acres in southwestern North Dakota. She enjoys reading, walking, wildlife watching, listening to soundtracks, and playing with their two dogs and one cat.
