Soon after landing in the Holy Land she is captured by a band of marauding soldiers and only the intervention of a handsome knight saves her from the harem of the Saracen Prince Hasan. However, her rescuer is none other than Geoffrey de Belgarde. When she endangers Sir Geoffrey's life she is forced to become his wife to save him from certain death - she who had sworn she would rather marry a serpent!
