Marcia Muller recommends
Dead Man's Hand (1997) (Freddie O'Neal, book 7) Catherine Dain "A fascinating character... thoroughly likable." | Zen Attitude (1998) (Rei Shimura, book 2) Sujata Massey "You can't find a better guide to the mean streets of Japan than Rei Shimura. From a Buddhist temple in Kamakura to the nightclubs of Tokyo's trendy Roppongi districts, she leads us on a tense journey across terrain shaken by cross-cultural tremors and rifts between old and new ways. An excellent new series from a very talented writer." | Family Business (2006) (Port Silva, book 9) Janet LaPierre "LaPierre goes well beyond the bounds of the traditional mystery, examining one of today's most compelling issues ... quirky and likeable characters, well-drawn setting, and baffling plot ... excellent series." | |
House of Whispers (2008) (Supernatural Properties, book 1) Margaret Lucke "A suspenseful, intriguing first entry in an innovative new series. Margaret Lucke is an exceptional writer." |
