Amateur sleuths T.S. Hubbert, the retired Wall Street executive, and his eighty-something Auntie Lil, return in A Cast of Killers. This time Auntie Lil's boundless energy has her helping out in a Times Square soup kitchen catering to a gaggle of former actresses. When one of their number suddenly dies from an apparent heart attack, Lil presses a reluctant T.S. to find out the woman's real identity so she can be given a proper funeral. He discovers that the woman was deliberately poisoned, and soon he and Auntie Lil enlist a motley crew of Times Square denizens as they match wits with theatrical producers and shady real estate developers to unmask a killer.
