Kat MacVeagh of Gabriola Island self-published a "a pager turner" novel set in rural Minnesota, near where she grew up, The Coat in the Woods (Orlebar Point 2009). Through the journals of the protagonist's father, the novel sheds light on the World War II activities of Detachment 101 in Burma.
