Jill Malone grew up all over the place in a military family, and lives now in Spokane with her partner and son, their three dogs, and a lot of outdoor gear. Red Audrey and the Roping, her first novel, won the third annual Bywater Prize for Fiction. At present, she's at work on another novel. She plays guitar and is a sucker for mangos.
