Teresa 'Toots' Amelia Loudenberry is settling into her new Malibu beachfront house, close to both her daughter Abby and The Informer, the tabloid newspaper she recently acquired. When Toots is unnerved by a strange presence in her new home she enlists the help of her three best friends in uncovering the mystery. Meanwhile Abby is banking on an offer for a celebrity exclusive that could revive The Informer.

Everything is not as it appears, however. Three slick con artists have their sights set on Toots and her wealthy friends. But the Godmothers wouldn't be the Godmothers if they weren't working behind the scenes to ensure that this story has its own happy - and unexpected - ending.
