It's hard for most people to imagine living in another place and time. But "A House Divided" gives the reader a glimpse into the ordinary world of the mid-1800's and then shows what happens when war marches through. This tale of teenaged twins who live just outside Gettysburg, PA, gives a close-up view of their lives and how each is affected by the war. Well-researched and a good story, too. Recommended for teens, for classrooms covering the Civil War, and for libraries wanting to carry materials students will enjoy reading.
