David McRobbie was born in Glasgow, Scotland in 1934. He moved to Australia in 1958 and whilst he is now a full-time writer, in the past he worked as a ship's engineer, a primary-school teacher, college lecturer, script writer and producer of children's radio and television programs for the ABC. David is the author of many best-selling books for children and young adults. In 1989 he wrote The Wayne Dynasty which was the first book in a very funny series. He then later adapted the Wayne books for both radio and television which were very successful.
