Liz Durham is dead.

She just doesn't know it yet.

She died on the operating table after a terrible automobile accident.

But, at the same instant, on the table next to her, a fourteen year old girl died too, the victim of suicide.

By a fluke their souls, one bound for Heaven, the other Hell, were united and unable to pass over into the afterlife. They were returned to their bodies and now, two years later, Death has returned and is demanding his due. Liz and Meg must free their souls and save their lives without sending one or both of them straight to Hell.
