Catriona McCuaig

Carol McCuaig is a former weekly newspaper editor. She holds two degrees from the University of Waterloo, one in History and the other in Religious Studies.

She has written numerous magazine articles which have been published in Canada, Britain, Ireland and the United States. Subject matter includes history, genealogy, nature and religion.

She is the author of sixty three books, including historical novels, regional histories, commissioned works and books geared to helping people who are researching their Lanark and Renfrew County (Ontario) roots. In Search of the Red Dragon: The Welsh in Canada received the Ninnau award for its contribution to North American Welsh culture.

In 1997 she received an Achievement Award from the Ontario Heritage Foundation, for her body of work in recording regional history. A photo of Carol with some of her books appeared on the Foundations poster for that year.

She is a life member of Heritage Renfrew, and a past president of the North Lanark Historical Society.
