Wendi Lee has written mysteries, westerns, and American historicals. Booklist has said of her private eye, Angela Matelli - "This too-little-known series and its first-rank female sleuth deserve more recognition." Her traditional westerns, written as W. W. Lee in the early 1990s, were critically acclaimed, and her highly praised American historical, The Overland Trail, was released in 1996. She lives in Iowa with her cartoonist husband, Terry Beatty, and daughter, Beth.
