Izzy has problems...fat and spotty (too many cream cakes), she is hopelessly in love with Michael. Michael, unfortunately, is married to Louise - and intends to stay that way. Meanwhile Izzy has to contend with the assorted delights and terrors of 4C (that would have to be her class!), put up with being adored by Dick (the pottery teacher), and somehow cope with the maniacal, larger-than-life attentions of Hywel and Gwyn, two sex-mad Welshmen who force their way into her life and affections, in spite of their very obvious faults.
