(2016)
A novel by

Leslie Rutledge came to New York, dreaming of being an actress on Broadway. Instead, she worked as a waitress and she was not a very good one at that. She mixed up orders and as a crowning touch, dumped onion soup in the lap of a famous Broadway director. That was the least of her troubles. She took Adam, an actor, as her lover. When she became pregnant, Adam told her he didn't want to get married. He'd landed a starring role on Broadway and he had to think of his career. He didn't want to be saddled with a wife and child. So here she was in New York, two thousand miles away from her family. There was nothing to do but pray for a miracle.
What she got was Michael O'Malley. He seemed too good to be true. He was her dream man with dark blond curls, ice blue eyes and a gorgeous body. What was not to like? But he had a disconcerting way of reading her mind. When he offered to marry her, she was tempted. He was the perfect solution. She'd be able to go home to her family, her mother, her three brothers and her sister, with Michael in tow and there would be a lot less unhappiness about her pregnancy. But she hardly knew Michael. There were so many things about him she didn't understand. Could she marry this man when he seemed so strange, almost alien to her?
Michael wanted to give up his wings for a brief period to help Leslie through this rough patch in her life. He had strict orders not to fall in love with her. This was strictly forbidden. If that happened, he was in danger of losing his wings and his immortality. He must make a choice. Leslie or his place in heaven. What was he going to do?
