Carefully utilizing repeated imagery, In Skin and Bones is a novel in verse which explores self-destruction and deterioration through the eyes of two young adults. The story is told through alternating voices: Leah, who is struggling with her mother's depression, anorexia, and her disenchantment with life, and Caleb, whose actions are haunted by those of his father's.
