Mackenzi Lee is reader, writer, bookseller, unapologetic fangirl, fast talker, and perpetually-anxious badass. She holds an MFA from Simmons College in writing for children and young adults, and her short fiction has appeared in Inaccurate Realities, The Friend, and The Newport Review. Her young adult historical fantasy novel, This Monstrous Thing, won the PEN-New England Susan P. Bloom Children's Book Discovery Award, as well as an Emerging Artist Grant from the St. Botolph Club Foundation.

She loves Diet Coke, sweater weather, and historical fiction. On a perfect day, she can be found enjoying all three. She currently calls Boston home.

The Phoenix Bride (2024)
Natasha Siegel
"Poetic, romantic, and steeped in seventeenth-century London, The Phoenix Bride is historical fiction at its best. Natasha Siegel's prose had me hypnotized, and I savored every page of this breathless, forbidden love story."

The Manor House Governess (2023)
C A Castle
"A queer, atmospheric reimagining of the classic English gothic novel, paying homage to writers like E M Forster and Charlotte Bronte while also bringing a modern sensibility and contemporary spin. In turns spooky, funny, and romantic, C. A. Castle's debut novel is sure to be a hit."

By Any Other Name (2023)
Erin Cotter
"By Any Other Name is a high-stakes, high-drama mystery set in a vividly rendered Shakespearean London. Erin Cotter takes readers on a journey from the slums to the theaters to the palaces of Elizabethan England, led by a plucky, determined hero I would have followed anywhere. I devoured this romantic, delightful romp!"
