Send in the Clowns

(2012)
A novel by

Ernie Porter has a lifelong aversion to clowns. Many of his boyhood Halloweens were destroyed by a wild gang of bullies who tracked him down to pummel him, torment him for being what they termed a geek.

With hard work and determination, Ernie eventually was able to reshape his image, rise to a respectable position as manager of Cedar Grove's TLC Pharmacy. That's not to say he still finds any joy in celebrating Halloween. Nor can he resist skirting the huge clown-laden costume display his own drugstore is required to carry.

Just the same, the memories have faded and for the most part, he's left the past behind. Or so he thinks. The Bozos of Halloween past still lurk in Cedar Grove. And this year someone again has it out for Ernie, setting it on track to be the worst Halloween ever...
