Waltz of Shadows (1999) is volume 1 in the Lost Lansdale series, a collection of novels written during the 1980s and 1990s that sold but were not published. This particular novel features Bill, who joins a group of youths obsessed with a hedonistic lifestyle of sex and death, who in turn are targeting a philandering doctor. Meanwhile, there is a hit placed on the doctor's wife and they meet hired assassins employed to complete the job, Fat Boy and Cobra Man. From here people are killed and scores are settled. To say more about the book would be to ruin the plot. Waltz of Shadows is not renown for being one of Lansdale's better novels, but I enjoyed it and Lansdale fans will. Originally written in 1991, the book eventually found its way into the realm of signed limited hardcovers through the independent publishers, here Subterranean Press. It is now available on Kindle at a cheap price.
