Peter Hallam cannot believe his luck. He is idyllically happy. He is in a blissful marriage with a wonderful wife, has a beautiful daughter, a comfortable house and a great job. What could go wrong? The only problems that he can see are his layabout son and wacky mother-in-law, Monica, who has lived with them since the death of her husband.

However, the appointment of a new Managing Director changes his life beyond his wildest nightmares. Hallam suddenly finds himself out of work and at forty- five, has little chance of finding another job. Life continues in a downward spiral from this until, after losing his wife to his best friend, he takes Monica's advice and decides that revenge is his best option. Revenge is both hilarious and very sweet for Hallam in this exceptional black comedy.
