It was a fairweather day in Millport. High clouds, a light breeze coming in from the sea, the blue-grey water of the Clyde sparkling in the sun, the white tips of the waves pirouetting in the bay. There was something in the air. It might have been spring, although it was also possible it was a relaxed sigh of contentment from Planet Earth at the imminent destruction of the human race.
