I was a prisoner until he set me free.

There’s a wall between the Merillian and the Wilds, dividing two societies that nearly wiped each other out in the biggest race war of all time. Humans are so scared of what's outside, but what I fear is inside. Princes and love and heroes don't exist here like they do in stories.

I've been told I'm an abomination. A stain. A monster. Ugly. They tore me from my mother, cut off my ears, and put me underground to live out my days in the darkness. I'm not sure why they didn't kill me, but I might as well be dead.

I don't know how long it's been, but I imagine I'll die in this hole... until someone is thrown into the neighboring cell. Someone who fights back and shouts a lot. I should probably be afraid of him. Most people thrown in prison have done awful things after all, but instead, I'm curious.

But everyone dies down here. I really shouldn't get attached.

But then the stranger vowed to break us out. I didn't believe him at first... but then he was at my cell door covered in blood telling me to come with him.

Now, we're leaving this place together.

[This is an 18+ fantasy romance with a big elven warrior and a sheltered young woman. It includes talk of sexual assault. If that might trigger you, you have been warned! Ends in a HEA]

Genre: Paranormal Romance
