Dymer (1926)
A collection of poems by Clive Hamilton (C S Lewis)

C. S. Lewis's Dymer, a narrative poem, under the pseudonym, Clive Hamilton. Published the year after Lewis began his career at Magdalen College, Oxford, Dymer took the longest to write of any of his books. Its disappointing sales convinced Lewis that poetry was not his calling, and although he wrote many single short poems for Punch and other publications in later years, he soon turned to the prose works that made him one of the great writers of the 20th century. As his biographer, George Sayer, notes in Jack: C. S. Lewis and His Times, "So few copies of the first edition were sold that it is now an even rarer book than Spirits in Bondage. Not more than a dozen copies are known to exist."
