Anne Lamott recommends
A Southern Exposure (1995) Alice Adams "What a terrific book. I loved its rich, recognizable characters, the intricacies and excitement of the plot, the beauty of the writing. I laughed out loud a number of times, growled with jealousy at Alice's skills, and stayed up all night to finish it." | The Water Dancers (2003) Terry Gamble "Terry Gamble's work is highly intelligent, skillful, and, most important, full of heart and soul." | Georgia Bottoms (2011) Mark Childress "Georgia Bottoms is one of my favorite characters... Mark Childress's best book yet." |
