In this third book of the inspirational trilogy began with Prairie Rose and continued in As the Lily Grows, Libby and Ike are married and looking forward to starting a family. But disappointment comes their way, as Libby fails to become pregnant and Ike is forced to take a job with the railroad that keeps him away from home several days a week. To keep busy, Libby takes to writing, hoping to be published. Still, she dreams of having a baby, and finds difficulty in seeing babies born to those around her. Yet, with faith to sustain her, Libby looks to the future she will share with the man she deeply loves.
