It is about the seamy side of post-civil rights America during America's postmodern era, where almost everything is a racket and can be reduced to the profit motive. It notes the deals that the black elite has made with the white overclass. It's about the niggerati and Pet Negroes. It's about a woman of her times who has to confront the corruption that has enmeshed all aspects of American society. It's about the white elite having the black elite shill for their policies and black complicity with the forces that are arrayed against. It's about funk and the new revolution that is slowly bubbling up from the earth.
