One week is all Lucky has before he’ll be a black cat forever. If he can’t find a witch to take him as a familiar by then, the curse will take full effect. However, if he can find a witch in time, their bond will allow him to shift into a man. But where to find a witch the week of Halloween? Lucky’s ready to give up when the scent of witches leads him to a supernatural diner where he finds the perfect witch, only, she has no idea about magic, black cats, or much about the supernatural world.
Desperation does things to a person, and Lucky refuses to give up, even when he finds out the witch has a human boyfriend, who’ll likely complicate things. Will Lucky be chosen as a familiar before his twenty-first birthday or will he be stuck as a cat the rest of his life? And if he is chosen, what happens next?
