In God's Country

Douglas Kennedy spent a summer in the "The Bible Belt" of the American South, exploring what makes people become born-again Christians. On his journey he meets an ex-mafia member turned charismatic preacher in Miami, the head of a Christian motorcycle association in Arkansas, an evangelist who ministers to prisoners on Death Row in South Carolina, and, finally, is introduced to the delights of Christian heavy metal music.
