The Husband Test is a witty and whimsical medieval romance that sizzles with sexual tension. The handsome and proud Earl of Whitmore is desperate for a woman...but not just any woman. To lift the curse on his blighted lands, he's been told he must marry a woman of "great and surpassing virtue." A man of action, he rides hell for leather to the Convent of the Brides of Virtue, expecting to take his pick of the dowerless noblewomen the good sisters are known for training as exemplary wives. To his amazement and anger, he's sent away still unwed, accompanied by a nun he has been told is the convent's "husband tester." Until he can prove his worthiness to this Bride of Christ, he'll remain a bachelor. Sister Eloise is both astonished and humbled to have been entrusted with this important task. Though no one doubts Eloise's earnest desire to help, the headstrong postulant's efforts to bring improvements to the convent where she has decided to take her vows have so far resulted in fires, floods, and a dry well. When the harried abbess gives her the task of evaluating the earl, Eloise sees this as her chance to prove herself at last. Neither the would-be groom nor the not-yet nun realizes that the abbess's most devout prayer is that her divinely inspired deception will result in a match that passionately proves God works in mysterious ways.
