Tansy Summer

(2016)
A novel by

A young girl discovers her voice in this charming tale of family, friendship and chickens, perfect for fans of Wendy Mass and Linda Urban.

Tansy's busy father never has time for her, and ever since her mother left, he's harder to talk to than ever. Without even any friends at school, Tansy's all alone. When everything becomes too much, she stops speaking all together. Her father says that a summer away in the country with her Aunt Sugar and Uncle Virgil is just the thing to help her find some joy again. But she can't help but see it as a punishment.

The farm is full of things that are smelly and scary, and her new chores in the chicken coop are nothing short of terrible. But Tansy soon makes a new friend and meets a neighbor who shows her a whole other side of keeping chickens. With the help of these plucky pals, Tansy finds not only joy, but the strength to face her problems - finding her voice in the process.
