Overhead, the army chopper dropped closer to the cabin. Outside in the darkness the police waited for the kidnappers to emerge. The car was parked a few yards from the cabin, and if Brad could only reach it he might still rate a chance of escape. He knew there would be a certain amount of risk involved - you didn't pick up a quarter of a million dollars by playing it safe. Brad hadn't minded the risk, so long as he lived through it to enjoy the money, but the scheme had gone horribly wrong...
